Meet our Supporters

Patrons

The Raukatauri Centre is very fortunate to have as its Patrons New Zealand musicians Hayley Westenra and Boh Runga.

Hayley Westenra

Hayley WestenraNew Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra became an international star, aged 16, when her album Pure was released. Pure became the fastest-selling international début classical album ever, and has sold more than two million copies worldwide. Hayley has received numerous awards for her contributions to music, both in New Zealand and elsewhere. In November 2008 she was named "classical performer of the year" at the Variety Club's annual awards in London. Hayley has performed for dignitaries around the world and is the youngest-ever Unicef Ambassador. As well as being Patron of the Raukatauri Centre, she  contributes to charities all around the world.

Boh Runga

Boh RungaBoh Runga is the lead singer and guitarist of iconic New Zealand rock band Stellar*. Stellar* was Sony Music's biggest selling kiwi band, and won eight Tui Awards for Mix and its 2001 follow up album Magic Line. Boh comes from a very musical family, with sisters Bic and Pearl both in the music industry. In 2008, Boh headed to Los Angeles to begin recording her first solo album, Beside You. The album was critically acclaimed in New Zealand, and Boh generously donated $1 from each album sale to the Raukatauri Centre. Boh also has her own jewellery line, in association with gold bullion company NZ Mint.  Her first jewellery range, Birdland, was based on her love of New Zealand's native birds. Boh currently lives in Los Angeles.
