HCPC Registered Music Therapist
Jez is from the UK, and made the change from working for Greater Manchester Police to Music Therapist in 2015 when he completed his music therapy training with Nordoff-Robbins. He has worked as a therapist with many different client groups and particularly enjoys working with children, people in prison and those with dementia. As he says, it took him 50 years to work out what he really wanted to do!
He grew up learning harmony in a cathedral choir, played classical piano and began teaching himself boogie-woogie, as well as guitar and woodwind instruments. He plays a wide range of material but has specialised in jazz, blues and boogie piano. He also writes songs, teaches piano, collaborates with other musicians and gigs regularly.
Jez also enjoys a wide range of hobbies from DIY to keeping chickens. He has renovated his house, built a clay pizza oven, is a keen motorcyclist, plays squash and runs regularly. He loves travelling and has spent time in India, Sardinia, Ethiopia and much of Europe.
