July School Holiday Programme

We have a great line up of activities for the July school holidays. Not only will Russell the Singing Cowboy be riding back into the Centre, but we will also launch a new programme called Make it, Shake it. Be sure to book in for extra sessions with your music therapist too! Full information on all these programmes can be seen below.

Grab your boots because local legend, Russell the Singing Cowboy, is playing two sessions during the school holidays, just for the RMTC whanau! RMTC clients, siblings and friends are invited to Shake, Rattle 'n Roll throughout these interactive group music sessions, filled with songs, stories and instruments.

Russell the Singing Cowboy is suggested for ages 2- 8 years old, and he will be visiting the Centre from 1pm on Tuesday 9th July and 9.30am on Thursday 18th July. Caregivers are invited to attend with their child, and families are welcome to join one or both sessions.

Cost is $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional child from the family, with under-2's welcome to attend for free.

Please contact Flo at info@rmtc.org.nz by Thursday 4th July, to register for a session.
Participation is limited to 8 children.

At Make it, Shake It! music therapists Russell, Will and Olly will help participants make and personalise a variety of instruments that can be beaten, blown and shaken. After the decorating is finished, it will be time to use the instruments to make music with your fellow creators. Best of all, participants can take their instruments home to share with their families after the workshop has ended.

Make it, Shake it!, will be held on Thursday 11 July from 1-2 pm. It is appropriate for all ages, sibling and friends are welcome to join and caregivers are invited to help with the instrument making if that best suits their child.

Cost is $25 for the first child and $20 for each additional child from the family.

Please contact Flo at info@rmtc.org.nz by Monday 8th July, to register so that we can be sure to have enough supplies for all of our musicians.

We love to see our clients for ongoing sessions during the school holidays, but did you know that we can arrange group sessions specifically for your community group, or a network of families?

RMTC therapists are available to facilitate group music sessions in our large therapy room, or can go out into the community to run sessions that are specifically designed for your group or organisation's needs. Music can be tailored to children or adult groups, instruments are provided and fun is guaranteed!

Please contact Jen at jenryckaert@rmtc.org.nz if you'd like details on arranging a music therapy session for your group.
