“Tune In” Speech and Music Co-Therapy Groups

School Aged Group 6- 10 with or without caregivers
Raukatauri is pleased to offer two groups for children with special needs that develop language through music.
Ages 2-5 with caregivers: Mondays, 1:45-2:30, 13th of February-10th of April, 2017
Join Speech-Language Therapist Kristy McCallum and RMTC staff member Tori Gac for fun-filled group therapy sessions that use music to develop social and functional language skills. Children will have the opportunity to make new friends and learn from each other while becoming confident communicators. Greeting activities and opportunities for turn taking and sharing in play will foster engagement with peers. Child-friendly themes will build your child’s vocabulary, with tips and activities to generalise vocabulary to everyday contexts.
School age group
Ages 6-10 with or without caregiver: Mondays, 3:00-3:45, 13th of February-10th of April, 2017
Join Speech-Language Therapist Kristy McCallum and Music Therapist Jen Ryckaert for fun-filled group therapy sessions. Kids will get the chance to develop friendships through musical games and activities that encourage teamwork, collaboration, the navigation of social boundaries and learning how to be appropriately assertive. Communication confidence will develop through sharing common interests and expressing ideas and opinions, with a focus on themes that encourage personal growth and self-awareness.
Cost: $30 per session
