Registered Music Therapist
Tori is from Binghamton, New York, and has completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. She joined the Raukatauri Music Therapy team after completing her student placement at the centre from July 2016 to July 2017.
Tori currently works with a wide range of clients at Raukatauri, where she facilitates music therapy groups for both adults and school-aged children, as well as individual sessions for children with autism, down syndrome, and developmental delays. She has gained experience in facilitating co-treatment groups for school-aged children with limited resources, working with early childhood populations, and facilitating group sessions for adults with developmental disabilities. As part of her placement at RMTC, Tori co-led a speech and music co-therapy preschool group and individual and group sessions for both adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities. As part of her clinical training in the U.S., Tori worked with various populations and also led a co-treatment group with speech language-pathology students for two adults with aphasia and implemented interventions for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Outside of music, Tori enjoys trying new food, hiking and running around Auckland, and spending time with her friends and family. Tori is enjoying living in New Zealand and thrilled to be part of the Raukatauri Music Therapy team!
