Student Music Therapist
Zach joined the Raukatauri Music Therapy whānau in July 2019. Hailing from the United States as a student music therapist, he will be completing his internship through Georgia College & State University. During his time at GCSU, Zach gained experience implementing music therapy with various populations including children, adolescents, and adults with developmental or behavioural disabilities, older adults in hospice, and individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Zach’s passion for music therapy stems from a lifetime of performing with ensembles and writing/recording music. Alongside of this he has developed a deep interest in the healing arts such as yoga, meditation, and any other form of self-enquiry. His desire to share these practices led him to India, where he became a certified yoga teacher, which he has been doing full time in the U.S. for the past several years.
Outside of music and yoga, Zach is an avid cook (and eater), a lover of the outdoors, a supporter of the arts, and a forever-learner.
