Rachel Farrell

General Manager
Auckland Regional Centre

Originally from the UK, Rachel gained a Bachelor of Music with Honours from The University of Hull, specialising in clarinet performance and music analysis. After graduating, Rachel sought employment in Arts Administration in London with roles for pre-eminent London based orchestras managing tours worldwide. A shift to the marine industry saw Rachel work as a yacht captain in Greece for several years, culminating in a sail boat delivery half way round the globe to New Zealand in 2007. Falling in love with Aotearoa, Rachel decided to put down roots, taking on project management roles in the marine industry in Auckland and eventually gaining citizenship. In addition to her previous qualifications, in 2022 Rachel completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting. Outside work Rachel can be found enjoying one of her two passions – enjoying music through singing with Auckland Choral or sailing on the Hauraki Gulf.

Having joined the Raukatauri whānau in July 2016, Rachel was thrilled to be named as General Manager in June 2023. During her time with Raukatauri there has been considerable expansion – from an Auckland entity with six staff and 200 clients per week to present day, where the Trust works with over 1,000 client per week across four regions with 23 staff. Rachel is incredibly proud to be part of this dynamic team, and looks forward to utilising her skills and previous experience to lead the Trust in their next chapter.
