Keep the Beat Going

Music therapy is more than music. It’s a clinical practice that supports communication, development, memory, emotion, and social connection. For the 800+ people that access Raukatauri’s music therapy services every week it is not a ‘nice to have’ - it’s an essential part of their daily lives. That’s why we are incredibly proud to be Aotearoa’s only charitable music therapy provider, delivering subsidised sessions to anyone in need.

Raukatauri receives no direct government funding, and yet we subsidise every session delivered. We have always been proud of our vision to provide equitable access by removing barriers to services, but the financial realities for the charities sector at the moment is making this an almost insurmountable challenge.

That’s why we are embarking on this campaign Keep the Beat Going with the aim of raising $250k by the end of March 2026.

Every dollar donated subsidises therapy sessions - reducing barriers for families and expanding access to outreach programmes in schools, hospitals, prisons, and aged care. Your support funds real, measurable change: more sessions, shorter waitlists, and more New Zealanders experiencing the life-changing benefits of music therapy.
